Dwellers in Agile Cities will organise Let’s live together! -Design Workshop on Co-housing as a part of Tampere Design and Architecture Week.
The workshop is held on Tuesday 30.8. from 6 to 8 p.m. in Ravintola 931. The workshop is part of the official programme of Tampere Design and Architecture Week.
Densification invites not only to share the city, but also to share the personal home. Do you recognize this thought: I would love to live with other people, if… if what? What kind of spatial solutions are missing in co-housing? What works, what does not?
Come and add on to some inspiring plans we have preselected as basis! Meaning DESIGN YOUR SPECIAL CO-HOUSING DREAM to actual properties in Tampere, to apartments that one could rent or buy at the moment. It is a rare situation when a community can build a new house for themselves. So we will now try together how the most promising and typically available apartments or buildings fit for different communities and different needs.
We want to encourage out-of-a-box thinking about co-housing. Our individual needs are becoming more and more special. What spatial luxury and speciality could one have through sharing? Renting a historical flat no one family could alone afford? Having a kitchen like restaurants? There are also dweller groups of social vulnerability with special needs. What kind of well-being and everyday support could co-living bring, especially if people with different backgrounds mix? Active seniors, integrating immigrants, youth not dropping out, young mothers with free-time? Babysitting, music lessons, new language?
How could flexible solutions in co-housing answer to these?
And most important of all, how to do it yourself? What kind of old flats fit well for community housing? What supports, what hinders co-housing? Practical exchange of hints!
While workshopping, we invite you to discuss these issues with people doing research on, living in, starting up or designing co-housing!
